View from veranda
This is a partial view of what I see from my veranda overlooking Ubud. Lots of rain last night, cloudy and cleaning today. After having my session with Nyoman yesterday, I crashed and slept 12 hours last night!
Travel stories written while I’m on the road exploring. So many adventures and experiences pop up each day, I’ll begin by managing them under travel stories and invite you to follow along.

News arrived here today of the tornado’s and destruction in Southern Indiana, Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee where friends live. I hope they are alright as well as any friends and family you may have there! Sitting here writing this, and realizing that I’m really in Bali, this is quite a surreal experience. I started thinking
I’ve had a whirl wind visit to Singapore. Normally, travel days are tiring, long and expensive. Yesterday, everything went relatively smoothly, not so tiring, I only got lost once and it was surprisingly inexpensive getting here. I left early to avoid the heat in Bangkok heading to the BTS SkyTtrain at 7:30 am. The heat

I traveled all day today getting to Singapore. This was written yesterday. I have made it to Singapore and will be on my way to Bali tomorrow…YAY! I got a very early start to this day. My morning wake-up call was the family outside my window chatting while making family breakfast at the outdoor kitchen.

Yesterday was an off day for me meaning I had no appointments. I wandered over to Ricki’s Coffee where I used to have breakfast last time in Bangkok and was reminded just how good their coffee was. I planned a circular exploration of Bangkok and wanted something filling and healthy in my stomach before I

Slept a bit rough last night. Woke up tight and felling out of sync. I went walking with my laptop to find a spot for breakfast and then a stop at “Coffee & More”. Not much open even at 9:00 am on a Sunday morning. The Roti place was opening, I sat and waited. It

At some point in the night, I woke slightly with my mind running through some of the things I would be facing in the next couple days. Moving from A One Inn to the Rambuttri area and how best to accomplish that. Finishing my flight booking to Bali and back to Singapore. Where to stay,

It seems impossible this is only my second day in Bangkok? It must be longer? It feels so warm and familiar here. I’ve been all over the place already, at least the new area where I’m staying for the first time. Maybe jet lag is skewing my awareness except, I don’t feel like I have

I’m arrived at A One Inn. Their directions from the airport were impeccable. My flight landed early at 6:00 am, I was at the front desk here by 8:00. Waiting for baggage took the bulk of that time between. Customs and immigration were a snap. I was waved through customs, they didn’t look at either
This is a bit long as it describes the hurdles I had to go through to even get on the plane. WHEW! I’m here, read on… You can’t get on this plane! “I’m sorry sir, we can’t allow you to board the plane”. I was stunned! Then, I got annoyed and angry, I quickly assessed

All packed, snacks made, dinner finished and I’m resting in space between then and when. Tomorrow, I leave for Bangkok. I can feel my body shifting to that energy all day today. In the quiet space of the past three days, I’ve not driven my car. Enough food in the fridge has nourished my meals.

Welcome to 2012! As this new year begins, I’m reflecting on what I appreciate from my life in the past year and what I’d like to birth more of in the coming year. Several years ago, a friend talked with me about “birthing” energy, the energy present around the time of birth. She recommended using

For many years, I’ve been out of the country over Christmas. Today, I was reminded why I like to be elsewhere for this crazy holiday! I’d picked up mom from rehab as she was released today. It took three hours to complete that process. The fuel tank was a bit low so I swung by

A friend emailed me a strong recommendation to see this movie. It looks great. I’m posting a link here so you can see the preview. It reminds me of a mystical book I read years ago titled “Golf And The Kingdom” by Michael Murphy. I read it several times before loaning it to friends and

Yesterday, I was involved in an accident. Fortunately, it was a very minor thing but it was still a bit shattering emotionally. I believe everything happens for a reason. Listening on my recent trip, moving when I felt inspired worked perfectly and all sorts of magic occurred. Yesterday, I looked at a box I put

I’m in NW Kansas and have run into a few friends who are really busy. REALLY busy, in NW Kansas. So busy, it seems to interfere with what, living? Does it interfere with having a life? I’ve been pondering this since coming back to the US from Indonesia and my adventure there. In 1989, as

It’s 4:30 am and I’ve been awake for 45 minutes. I may have found the box with my jeans! I hate long pants but it will be cold here again. I’ve only worn long pants trekking in the jungles for “protection”. Ha! Near Gunung Leuser National Park in Northern Sumatra, trekking with Johan, I was
As my trip was winding down and taking me back to the US, I started noticing a few firsts. My watch was set for time in Indonesia. The second clock was set to time here in Colorado. Occasionally, I’d press the button that switched between the time zones to get a sense of what was

I’ve been back for nearly 36 hours now. The surreal part of being here is that it doesn’t feel like I’ve been gone long. The other part is my home isn’t my home. I packed everything up in the bedroom, closet, hall closet, bathroom, kitchen cabinets, cleaned out the fridge and minimized the office. Everything
