Winding down!

HOT and noisy stay in Penang! Party hostel, paper thin walls, tiny spaces, locker barely big enough for my laptop, AC turned off in the afternoons (the HOT part of the day). City was hot but I explored anyway. Found some lovely food spots, got a SIM card for Malaysia, got really good at walking

Yangon Magic!

The overnight bus was awesome! VIP indeed with attendant, snacks, more room than a plane and extra blankets for the cold temperatures. They gave me a can of orange juice that was almost hot! Not to worry! With temperatures hovering near refrigerator temp’s, I knew it would be cold in a couple hours so drank

Departure in 2 hours!

The hostel staff recommended visiting Shwedagon Pagoda. It was nearing late afternoon so I had them call a taxi via “grab”, a service like Uber. Late afternoon, sun

This or that. What do you want! I’ve learned to put my questions together in very small bits of information, one piece at

Remarkable!

Been feeling a bit stuck in making travel plans. Nothing felt right or would come together. After walking a lot yesterday and then watching a huge variety of birds at sunset on the tree lined ridge, I had an idea! What I really wanted to experience next is more nature! I searched for information on

From India!

Today, I’m in Kochi, India after flying in yesterday! I’m in the older colonial part of town. Last evening, I walked to the beach for the Bob Marley concert. I asked who was playing and was told, “Bob Marley”! This morning, hearing music and drums beating on the street, I witnessed a “Bob Marley” parade.
