A Walk About With Larry

Larry Travel Update….blog in transition!

With Ketut of Bali Santi in Ubud. http://bit.ly/2KNHqtF

I am updating! First, I’ve got a lot of learning to do. So before I start tinkering here and screwing things up (already did some of that), I’m offering this as a fix idea.

Eventually, I’ll have some of my trips organized together. For now, I don’t. However, most of my posts have keyword links.

That means that….if you are on my website, like here under the link for “Bali, Thailand and Laos”….you will see an overview but not the individual posts.

However, if you search by keyword for each of those countries, you will bring up stories from my experiences there. Fortunately, (ha ha) I only have approximately 300 posts from the past 10 years!

Ok….yes, that is a LOT! So I’m going to start by working my way through those posts and make sure they have proper keywords. That will take a while. AND….I plan to do that while relaxing traveling in Mexico this fall.

For now, if you want to play around here and see my experiences, share in the adventure, get inspired to travel or have questions I can help you with, this is a temporary fix. Enjoy!

A few travel experiences!

Please….feel free to IGNORE advice!

Ko Samet Beach 194
Ignoring advice, I found this lovely spot on Ko Samet. It’s some of the softest white sand places I’ve ever experienced!!! Quiet peaceful beach (during the week). Much less expensive accommodations were in the village, a ten minutes walk to this spot! So happy I ignored “informed advice” and listened!

Go Local!

Move out of prime tourist areas! One block away will often bring you a world of different experiences! Local, intimate, personable and, for me, enlivening!

Bali Arrival 016
Literally experienced “magic” happening with this healer in Ubud, healing for people with serious challenges! Awesome friend and family, tune into this when you travel!

Dream Fulfilled!

From the first time I saw images of Raja Ampat, I wanted to go there. It was challenging, required more scheduling and planning than I usually do and resulted in an awesome experience! This is the view from my bungalow of the family compound on Gam Island.

My family and friends at Sahyadri outside Kalpetta in Kerala, India. AMAZING food prepared fresh each meal. So peaceful, quiet and cool…plus, I was fortunate to be there for the few days the coffee trees bloomed. WOW!

Early morning e-bike ride to see sunrise over the temples. There are over 4,000 monuments in a 14 square kilometer area! Peaceful, quiet, reverent! Stayed at a great hostel there:

Repeat Dream!

Yes, I am going back to Oaxaca! I loved my experience there so I’m going longer and have more of the experience in Oaxaca community. First, I’ll explore some new places in Mexico. Then, WOW…celebrating Dia de Los Muertos ahead of the official days. Such an amazing local celebration before the tourist arrive!
