Dia de descanso…rest day!

Big plans today.  After traveling all day yesterday, resting!  Travel is always stimulating.  Some times, so much so I don’t realize how exhausted I am.  After working to get everything complete before leaving and then traveling all day, I intentionally planned to rest today.

I actually slept in…then had a great breakfast and sat outside reading.  Then, it was nap time…yes, a morning nap!  So refreshing!

Around Bacalar….

They came to clean my room so I headed out to have shrimp taco’s for lunch.  And ice cream.  And a cortado from the combi VW coffee shop.  And walking around town, I played with my new camera lens.

I brought a filter to help bring out the colors of the water in the bright sun.  See for yourself how it worked!

After that, of course, it was time for the afternoon nap.  Then more shrimp taco’s.  Now, it’s writing time and soon time for a Negro Modelo!

Even on a rest day, had a great day meeting new friends.  Re-acquainted with people from the hostel.  Then hung out with people from Austria, Germany, London, Holland, Australia and Mexico today.  No one from the USA yet?  One more day of resting and then I’m off to Belize!

Some of the photo’s appear fuzzy.  I don’t know if the import quality was poor of if the wifi here is so slow.  Let me know if they appear fuzzy.  And no, it’s not an isolated experience caused by too much alcohol blurring vision!

UPDATE:  wifi is REALLY slow tonight.  Been massaging photo’s for a couple hours.  Will wait until faster connection and upgrade photo’s.  Time for sleep now….

Update to the update:  Yes I did find a faster internet connection.  After hours of wrestling with it, I came to the bakery coffee shop.  Maybe it’s the espresso here that helps!

Tomorrow is a travel day.  I leave early in the morning.  Then travel to Belize City and then take a water taxi to Caye Caulker.  I’ll be there for the weekend….in a hammock!   Ciao!
