Bali Travel Winding down, Change to the Beach

I’m packing tonight and leaving in the morning for the beach.  It’s a new spot for me!  I’ve been near there once before.  Now, I’m going to stay right on the beach in a place with a swimming pool!  I intend to soak up some sun and warmth on white sand!  When I get home, I’ll feel a bit assaulted by cold air and possibly snow and shoveling.  Seems like a nice balance:  white warmth first, then white winter next!?

It’s been great being here!  I feel so welcome and a part of the family when I visit.  Below is “mama” and I…she wanted a photo.

Healing Adventure

I was inspired to come here and see the healers.  I’ve not been for two years.  And it is always such an awesome tune up!

This is my eighth day here.  I just had my third session with Papa, had an amazing deep tissue massage with Ketut, and I have seen Wayan twice for over three hours.  In addition, I’ve been using “medicine” that Wayan made for me.  The wound on my right fore arm has healed dramatically.  The only piece left healing is the deepest part where the cut was deepest.  I went to Tirta Empul for a water blessing…local people there showed me the proper way to go through the process.

I’m feeling lighter.  My digestion issue is gone.  My knees feel better.  My mind is quieter.  I feel more energized, am sleeping better, and have a difficult time remembering what aches and pains I came to have healed.

Lat night, a weird thing happened.  The inside of my right thigh kept cramping during the night.  It was very painful!  Today, it ached and felt bruised.  This evening, I had another session with papa before leaving for four days.

It is so interesting seeing how he works!  He asked about my knee.  It’s better but a little sore.  I mentioned the charlie horse and he said he needed to start there.  I wasn’t looking forward to him working on those sore muscles.  Then he started…on my shoulder, never touched the muscle!  The shoulder was very sore!  Now, the pain in my leg is almost gone!  I don’t know what he sees or how he sees it, I’m just grateful to benefit from his healing skills!  And he is the most humble man with a great sense of humor and he laughs a lot.  He never collects money directly from people.  They place their donation by his Buddha statue.

It is a quality I’ve seen in healers I’ve met around the world.  Humility.  They don’t feel like they do anything.  The energy comes through them and helps people!

Shifting gears...

Tomorrow, I leave midmorning and have three nights in a lovely place.  My plan:  chill, relax, meditate, stretch, do qigong, and savor my time near the ocean.  Wayan gave me an offering basket to take to the sea with me so say prayers and make an offering before I get in the ocean.  That’s one of the tradtions here!

Big plans!  Chill….savor and enjoy life!

One lovely feature of my travels so far:  meeting so many interesting and lovely people!  Lovely real engaging conversation!  It’s always a highlight of my travels!

Luuk and I on the boat to Taman Negara

Left…Luuk and I on the boat to Taman Negara.  We connected, had great conversation, had dinner together and are still connected.

Today at the Sweet Orange Coffee Hub, I went there to chill and relax after editing photos.  I spent a couple hours there.  When a lady brought my lunch, I made a comment about the place.  She said “Thank You” and asked me some questions.  Her name is Putu and she is the owner and founder.  We talked for over 20 minutes.  Genuine human being putting great energy into her business, her food and the people who visit there!

Keeping this short...

I edited photos today and will post them below.  I did not bring my big camera and have enjoyed not filtering every experience through a camera lens.  My iPhone has worked brilliantly and I brought my small Sony RX 100 VI which has been perfect.

Around town, quiet coountry side, good food, healing water at Tirta Empul…I am blending everything into a gallery below.

Enjoy!  I’m going to pack now!

Next....

I’ll post some beach photos….if I don’t get too relaxed!  This is my splurge experience!  Have a look:

  1. I know you’ll savor every moment in the lush green, sunshine, on the beach, in the ocean.
    Beautiful videos and photos.
And the humility of healers — so welcome in contrast to being driven only by making money.
