Final writing from Sri Lanka! I fly out for India tomorrow morning. Still haven’t had success with WiFi so burning up remaining data on my iPhone using it as hot spot for connection.
A few favorite moments from my trip. So many! Friends, food, experiences, wild life, train rides, people on buses, travel angels showing up to help…yes, so many!
This afternoon, I move to a hotel/guest house nearer the airport. I have a private room to take EVERYTHING out of my backpack and sort thoroughly. Then, I’ll tightly repack so things are ready when I land in India tomorrow for the next phase of this adventure. A new journey!
Amazing time here in Sri Lanka. Once again, highlighted by so many wonderful people and genuine, first person real conversation. Nurse working cancer unit, woman helping children book authors, doctor from ER, man from India working ships out of Houston, and on…on…and on. Awesome!!
The food has been amazing. The natural world here rich and abundant. The people amazingly friendly! It will be easy to return to Sri Lanka again. My concern is that, like so many popular places I’ve visited in the past, Sri Lanka will change dramatically in the next few years!
For now, I’m heading off for one final lunch near the beach. Then, off to pack and get things organized for tomorrow’s travel.
Final moments, I’ve booked a hostel with roof top lounge. I have an onward ticket as required in order to visit India. My evisa is in order. I’m checked in for my flight.
AND…part of me is gearing up to start all that again in order to visit Myanmar. Day by day, piece by piece…stay present and enjoy what and who surrounds me!
Ciao from Sri Lanka!
Larry, great reflections. Wonderful photographs. Nothing changes in the U.S.; Patriots won another Super Bowl. Enjoy!
