A friend told me about Cinnamon Coffee. Well, I actually found Seniman Coffee, slightly different name. They were making a pour over coffee at the bar when I walked over. I asked a couple questions and learned that they know what they are doing!!! I had an espresso and an Americano to taste their blend. No milk or sugar needed. Lovely spot!
The manager, Edi, brought me a sample drink and joined me at my table. What a nice connection. He got into coffee and learned as much as he could. The building across the street houses the roaster. He’s been to Jakarta for training. And he’s clear that they are not in business to make money, that’s not their ultimate goal. They want to create a space that makes people feel welcome and happy. All the staff reflects that intention.
While he is very clear about the beans he uses, blending natural with wet processed beans, roasting to get the cleanest flavor, he’s just as clear about creating that space for employees and guest to feel welcomed and happy. And helping people, supporting people, is the most important value in his life. Wow!
I mentioned to him that I came here to get my body checked and see the healers. He talked to me about what he is learning to manage his energy and heal himself. We have parallel intentions that way.
He’s taken that to the mountain to help growers learn how to raise the best beans, manage quality, sell directly and get more money from their crop for their family and community! I wish I had more time here. I’d go to the mountain with him and meet his coffee growers!
Here are some photo’s to see a glimpse of this small piece of the world. These photo’s are from the front deck over looking the street and the inside of Seniman Coffee. Enjoy!
