A Walk About With Larry

Miscellaneous Warm Shots 2

Inspired travel and Having An Inspired Life!

Borobudur
Largest Buddhist temple in the world: Borobudur, Java

Near the end of the last decade, I was weary but inspired to travel.  I  head off on my longest adventure travel so far.  I wanted to refresh my energy,  and wanted to see more of SE Asia, so I put together a rough idea of a travel adventure.  Landing in Kuala Lumpur, starting there purposefully because it had a cool name, I had no itinerary.  It was the most important part of my journey:  starting!

Things always evolve!

I was not in my travel grooveyet, was tired  and jet lagged, and travel in this part SE Asia was pretty new to me.  So I did something I rarely do, I booked a tour.

And that set me on my way.  Realizing how simple it was to do this on my own, the tour essentially launched me into travel mode!  I started making things up for myself.  The tour company altered their itinerary for me, we changed transportation modes, and I met new friends who offered new ideas on where to go and what to see.

Now, I knew what I wanted to do!  I was grooving and listening.

Old, novel, ancient, rich and amazing!

Within a couple weeks, I was visiting the oldest rain forest on the planet, participating in night hikes where we saw mice deer, hiked through the most visited Hindu shrine in the world outside India, and headed off to Sumatra in search of wild Orangutan!

That was just for starters.  I had no concrete plan but listened really well!!  And I followed my intuition, listening for what felt right!

Inspired but unaware!

I had NO idea what I was in for when I left the US.  And, experiencing so many people, places, interactions, experiences, healers and life, I could never fit into my old life again.

More travel experiences and a richer life followed!

The rest of the decade was full of adaptability, adjustment, adventure, caregiving, taking care of myself, meeting healers and savoring life!

Now, a new decade beckons!  WOW!!

What I’ve learned that I intend to continue?!

Listen more, think less!  Listen for inspiration, feel it and act when inspired!

Be clear on my intention!  Follow my path!  Life on “Planet Larry” is really good!  Things are always working out for me!

Leave other people alone!  Their word is none of my business unless they specifically ask.  Some people are simply more comfortable with drama and struggle.  It’s not up to me to try to help!

Live “unconditionally”….never let conditions dictate how I feel.  Choose how I want to feel and live through that lense.  Respond more, react less!  Smile more and be happy!

Day dream and believe!  I know the expression:  “you’ll see it when you believe” it works for me.  Spend more time imaging, playing, day dreaming and believing.  Hold on for the next adventure.

Keep loving people!  I feel like an ambassador and I’m so fortunate to have met so many lovely people!!!  My life is richer not because of money or possessions or things but because of connections, experiences, real conversations, life sharing, smiles and hugs.  Continue on that path and savor the experience!

Wow…what a blessing this past decade has been.  I’m so eager and excited for what the next one brings!!

Savor!

We are all suffering from a terminal condition:  LIFE!   Many people never really live!   Dying is easy.  Living is hard!  Listen!  Be true to yourself!  Make yours a rich life!

Have a great life!
