Back in Bagan after a short trip to Mindat. Awesome! Walked through the local villages where they seldom see tourist. Experienced local natural life which I love.
Learned about some of their rituals. Saw women who had their face tattooed before that was made illegal. Was in museum that had artifacts older than the historic city of Bagan. It’s a family hosted museum which was remarkable. New friends, new experiences, new environment and culture! Perfect for me!!
This area has only been open to outsiders for about two years. A new road is under construction. Once it’s finished, it will be accessible in half the time and much more comfort! Things will change!!
One institution that will thrive, Hornbill Coffee! Great people with a very sincere and dedicated interest in making good coffee drinks. I spent several hours with them “playing” over coffee. So passionate and open minded! Check them out when you are in the area!
This morning, I left before 5:00 with an e-bike. At the road, I stopped and asked, “right or left”? “LEFT”! So I headed that way and wandered, explored, stopped for photographs and wandered some more. An amazing morning for me!!! Here are a few photo’s I got this morning!
Now, I’m off on an overnight bus leaving here at 8:00 and arriving in Yangon at 7:00 am. Monday, I fly off to Penang, Malaysia.
Exciting news…tomorrow, I get laundry done!@*#…..Awesome!!!
