I’m sitting in the Penang, Malaysia airport waiting for my flight to Borneo. What a nice way to begin the new year, wandering about a place described as “Mother Nature’s Fantasy”. I’m looking forward to more flow in 2011 and grateful for the sense of flow that’s pervaded every day of my journey so far.
Before leaving Hotel 54/Love Lane Inn, I check in for my flight but was unable to print the boarding pass. Once here at the airport, I found the Air Asia counter and thought I could use the “self-check” machine to print my pass. However, it showed I already was checked in so wouldn’t do anything.
Standing in between lines and looking lose, I noticed two people being helped at a counter with no destination listed so went and waited behind them. When they finished, the young woman the “position closed” sign to indicate she wasn’t open. I asked a quick question which she didn’t understand. Pushing the closed sign to the side, she asked me what I needed. I explained I had no boarding papers and wondered where I could get them? She asked for my passport and began clicking away.
Earlier, I noticed I was in a middle seat for the three hour flight. I asked where I would need to change that? in a couple moments, she asked if I had baggage to check? I said yes and she asked for it. Within three or four minutes, this off-duty agent had an exit row seat for me, boarding pass checked, and personally lugged my heavy backpack to the conveyor belt. I’m very grateful for the “travel angels” that have showed up on my trip.
I hope next year is a wonderful, flowing year for you that lifts you on it’s natural current and carries you effortlessly toward your wildest dreams!
Next posting will be from Borneo. I arrive around 11:00 pm and finally received a confirmation back so I know I’ll have a room for the night without doing too much work to find one!
