Yum! Yesterday was a wonderful day with new friends cooking together in the peace of the forest. During a break, Wendy from Holland said, “I’d like to just say here, it’s so peaceful”.
Class mates came from Israel, Chile, Poland, Holland, China and America (me). Haven’t met many people from America here. Too far for most people to travel!
I have to be brief in this posting as I’m leaving in about 20 minutes for another cooking class. Such a packed schedule, I know.
Wanted to post a few photo’s from the day. We got to select 6 dishes and I learned so much about simple combinations, balancing flavors, what ingredients substitute and such.
We were picked in Chiang Mai, went to local market, then to the train for 20 minute ride to the country where we got on bicycles to complete the journey. During afternoon break, we got to ride to a local temple.
Here are photo’s from my experience yesterday. Wendy made the comment at the end of the day, “I didn’t know I had that in me” referring to how good the food came out!
Amazing how flavorful everything was including the tip of adding salt to the coconut milk for the sticky rice. It was still sweet but the salt completely changed the nature of the flavor! WoW!
Looks like an awesome adventure, Larry! Just looking at the setting of the cooking school is relaxing.
You looked good in your little apron…..what were they picking ,the tall spikey stuff…. and what was your finished product?????? Everyone says HI…..
