A Walk About With Larry

Hello!  I left the farm in NW Kansas to drive to college in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  I was absolutely AMAZED at the world that opened up as I drove 900 miles through new and foreign places!  I decided to see and experience as much of it as possible and have been traveling for decades since!

Now, years later, I’ve had some amazing experiences and refined my travel style!  I travel light with a backpack, prefer staying in homestay or hostel to connect with locals and listen to my intuition as I wander through villages, cultures and new environments.  I’m not into “check the box” travel preferring to experience the world I’m visiting!

My budget:  I travel for around $1,000 a month, generally less but occasionally more when I splurge…like at the zip line Gibbon Experience in Laos or the yoga retreat in India.

The highlight of travel for me:  experiencing local cultures and meeting amazing people.  I cherish the rich personal conversations that unfold when traveling.  Dinking beer in Hanoi with three guys from South Africa, they talked about what they love in travel:  everyone is looking for something and they are open!  Connection, real conversation, sharing life experiences, and getting clear about future dreams…those are my travel highlights!
